Last night’s red carpet for the Oscars didn’t disappoint. There were of course a few flops but overall the turnout was great and red was surprisingly the hot color of the night! Host Anne Hathaway walked the red carpet in an eye-catching Valentino dress and the always beautiful Sandra Bullock wore a stunning gown by Vera Wang. Other ladies who rocked the red included Jennifer Lawrence, Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Hudson. But the red didn’t stop there! Zoe Saldana, Selita Ebanks, Selena Gomez, and Ginnifer Goodwin to name a few all rocked the bold color at Oscar after parties.
So if we incorporate hair, jewelry, and overall look, who takes the win for the best dressed star in red? Sandra Bullock gets my vote! She looked flawless. It was a much needed redemption from the Golden Globes. I especially loved the minimalism she achieved with her choices of jewelry, makeup, and hair style. She didn’t overdo it but kept it simple. The striking color of red suited her milky skin perfectly and the touch of red lipstick made both the dress and her beautiful skin POP. Styling her hair into an elegant chignon tied the whole look together. She made sure her makeup and hair didn’t overpower the already “standout” dress. Bravo to Sandra and her styling team!
