Wiggin' It

HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!

So you are getting ready to party it up in celebration of Halloween. You have your costume, your make-up, and your platform stilettos. No costume is complete without a wig! Oh, having trouble putting on the wig without wisps of hair flying out? No fear! Okay, maybe just a little for the holiday spirit.

HOW TO PUT ON A WIG

1. Take the wig out of the package and shake it gently to separate the fibers. Identify the front and back of the wig. Remember, the label goes in back.
2. Brush your own hair back. Pin longer hairs up and away from the front, sides, and nape of your head. A wig cap will keep hair in place.
3. Grasp the wig at the top back as shown:

4. Slip the wig over your head from hairline to neck. Adjust so that the front edge lines up with your hairline.

5. The wig should feel secure, but not too tight. If necessary, adjust the elastic straps (pull towards the label to tighten, pull away from the label to loosen).
6. Tuck in any stray hairs, and your're done! Style as you would your own hair.

Stay safe for Halloween!!

Hats Off to Mr. Jones

Have you heard of one of the best fashion innovators of our time to make head wear ever so glam? He is a British milliner who has made hats modern and compelling; radical and yet whimsical; and exquisitely crafted. Meet Stephen Jones.

Born and bred in Britain, Jones made his first debut onto the London fashion scene during the late seventies. Contemporaries of that time hungered for his individuality. He made his career as an acclaimed milliner and was known as the man who always crowned himself with a dynamic piece.

Twenty-five years later, Jones has designed head wear for Lady Diana, Rihanna, Mick Jagger, Gwen Stefani, and Beyonce among others.

The Fall and the Frizz

Want to tame that frizzy Fall hair? Try GLOSS Moderne's High-Gloss Serum

Your hair's frizz-biz is due to damp weather. The hair absorbs the moisture in the air causing it to expand. While weather may be out of our control, we can still fight the frizz!

G | M's High-Gloss Serum is infused with panthenol, a pro-vitamin (Vitamin B5) that moisturizes and coats your hair's surface making it smooth, shiny, and soft! The serum also helps prevent split ends and breakage. Using this serum will help you bring back sexy, luscious hair throughout all seasons!

Think P I N K: Strong Locks of Love

Happy October everyone! The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month organization is celebrating their 25 years of awareness, education, and empowerment. As some of you may know, cancer patients undergo a hair loss side effect from chemotherapy called alopecia. Some patients will cut their hair short once they start chemotherapy to prepare for the loss of their hair. Hair will eventually grow back after three months, but the texture and color may differ. (NBCAM)

If you know someone that has been affected by cancer, there are many ways to help. Here are links to organizations that can help you aid the cure for cancer:
