Summer Hair Trends

The Bob- Everyone from Jennifer Anniston to Dianna Argon to Brooklyn Decker are trying this hot look. It’s a refreshing, carefree look that anyone in a need of a change should definitely try!

Effortless Waves- Blake Lively is the queen of achieving perfect yet natural waves. The key to this look is to make sure the hair isn’t perfectly curled, let it hang loose.

Straight Bangs- Want to stand out this summer? Don’t let this anti-summer look keep you from giving it a try. This long, blunt bang look is the trend everyone is trying this summer. Take a cue from Bridesmaids star Rose Byrne.

Center-part- A middle part is more casual then the side part but more difficult to pull off. Try using the center-part look with glamorous waves like Lea Michele to dress it up.

Most importantly, when trying these new looks, don't forget to apply the High-Gloss Masque weekly to keep hair from loosing its shine and drying out in the summer heat!

The New Natives

Unique patterns and eccentric colors, the Native look is in this summer. I personally love the fun tribal prints and bright hues. It has a relaxed feel with a spice of personality.

Below, actress, Jessica Sohzr knows how to dress up her tribal prints by wearing a casual printed skirt, with a loose-fitted off-the-shoulder top, pairing it off with some Mary Jane pumps.

Below, she goes for a more casual look. Bright colored shorts with a fun pattern, along with a breezy tank with unique beaded detailing. I am personally not a fan of the heels with this look, but it can be easily switched with a pair of tan flats.

You can find lot of native inspired looks at Urban Outfitters and Forever21 this summer!

Fringe Galore

Fringed accessories are the go-to items this summer. This Navajo vibe is so simple, yet detailed that you don’t need to worry about accessorizing with a million different things.

Fringed bags are the perfect bags to use this summer. With a simple outfit like the one worn above by Mary Kate Olsen it compliments the outfit well. You can always find a crossbody bag that is fringed to give it a more hobo-chic style, or a tote like the one above, to give it a classier look.

I personally love the fringed sandals this summer. You can dress it up or down. Above, Kristin Cavallari is the epitome of summer fashion. She’s wearing a breezy tank, with frayed denim shorts, topping it off with some fringed sandals. The look can also be dressed up by wearing a short, neutral colored dress along with fringed sandals.

Look of the Week: Rachel Bilson

We all know Rachel Bilson from her days on The OC. Well she’ll finally be making her television comeback with her new CW show, The Hart of Dixie. The show focuses on Bilson’s character, Dr. Hart, a big city girl now practicing medicine in a small southern town.

Promoting her new show at CW’s upfront event in New York City, Bilson wore a tweed Chanel Couture dress and Brain Atwood pumps. Bilson always knows how to keep it simple yet stand out in the crowd. She complemented her ensemble with her signature ombre hair color and simple waves. To achieve Bilson’s shiny, frizz-free strands, apply the High-Gloss Serum when finishing your look to ensure runway ready hair!

Cannes Film Festival 2011

It’s all about Cannes right now! The films, the food, and having fun. But the center of attention is the FASHION. Not only is Cannes one of the best places to globalize your film but it brings one of the hottest red carpets of the year and best known celebs to one place. What could be better?!

Penelope Cruz has been one of the standout names recurring in the fashion news for her gorgeous gown choices at this year’s Cannes red carpet. This flawless Marchesa number has people dropping their jaws.  She accessorized it with a gold Swarovski clutch and Chopard jewelry.

Rachel McAdams made a bold choice with this Monique Lhuillier bustier and wide-leg pant ensemble at the Sleeping Beauty premiere, and I’m loving it! She finished the look with red lipstick, a gold Ferragamo clutch with Swarovski crystals, and some bangles.

Angelina Jolie stayed casual at her Kung Fu Panda 2 press conference in a beige chiffon dress, leather belt, and patent leather pumps all from Salvatore Ferragamo.

Keep your eyes out for more great fashion to come! The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 11-22. Enjoy!

Snap CRACKLE Pop

The latest trend to crack into the fashion world is OPI’s launch of Crackle Nail Polish. Who do we have to thank for this trendy new nail polish? Katy Perry!! Her avant-garde style has inspired this collection and has become the latest craze at nail salons across the nation. Colors range from shimmering shades of pink, blue, silver, plum, and black. When the polish is applied to a base color it creates a shattered effect that adds a fierce look to any style. These polishes are so popular in fact that they sold out within the first week. So if you think you are daring enough try adding a new edge to your style with Katy Perry’s shattering nail polish.

Spring/Summer Trend Watch: Color Blocking

This is not a new trend, per se, but one that has come out with a bang for the warmer months. It is all about pairing the right colors so you don’t look like you got dressed in the dark. If you are not so daring, try a dress that is already color blocked. Once you are feeling daring use this rule of thumb, only one neon color but you can pair multiple bold colors. One hot spring combo: coral, nude, and gray. Jewel tones also add a different dimensions as accessories. Pair a daring purple dress with shoes with a bold deep blue. This tote by Marc by Marc Jacobs is the perfect bag to carry all you need this summer, as well as be right on trend with the stripes and color blocking.

Spring/Summer Trend Watch: Naturals

Everything from wedges to hats are in the nude as the weather gets warmer. Hats protect your gorgeous hair, as well as your face and delicate skin from the sun yet you look cute and classy all day long. This hat from Juicy Couture (revolveclothing.com ) with its loose, woven texture also keeps your head cool by allowing air to circulate. Strappy wedges in a neutral color help to lengthen your leg, and who doesn’t want the look of longer, leaner legs not to mention they go with everything! This belt from Free People is woven with contrasting dark brown and neutral. This is a great way to give shape to a maxi dress or a flowing top.

Met Gala 2011

The Costume Institute holds the annual gala known as the Met Gala, honoring different designers each year. This year was a tribute to the late, great Alexander McQueen with an exhibit called Savage Beauty. While the exhibit runs from May-July 31st, we aren’t talking about the exhibit. It is a celebrity hullabaloo of anyone who is anyone in fashion, celebrities, and the lucky guests. This is to talk about the who, what, wear.

Blake Lively. She rarely has a misstep on the red carpet and this is no exception. Wearing a gorgeous Chanel couture gown and as one of the newest faces of Chanel, what more appropriate date than Karl Lagerfeld? I think the contrast of the draping across her body plays well against the fitted nude side. Not to mention her strawberry fiery locks done in a soft wave which complimented her entire look.

Gisele Bundchen looked fierce in this Alexander McQueen dress. This is such an understated dress when just looking at the top, then as you look down and BAM, that bottom and train is stellar!

Penelope Cruz in Oscar de la Renta. This dress was simple, but not boring. The layering towards the bottom into the train adds an element of fun and she kept it simple with understated jewelry and again with the loose waves. You don’t have to go over the top (like some did) just because it was the Costume Institute.

As you can tell the soft waves were on trend at this star-studded event. To achieve that look, start with a GLOSS Lisse treatment, then a voluminous blowout using the GLOSS Moderne luxury aftercare. Take a large barrel curling iron and curl the ends ever so slightly, then pull apart with your fingers and hit the red carpet.

Spring's Hottest Colors

While the weather is finally starting to really warm up, here is your guide to the hottest colors to be seen in this spring/summer.
Pink/Orange (this includes dusty pink, coral, and vibrant pink). While many people think you shouldn’t wear a pink dress if you are over the age of 5, here are some gorgeous inspirational dresses that you can pull off all season long! Don’t forget that a coral lipstick can add just the right pop of color to a neutral ensemble.

From top: Valentino, Badgley Mischka, J. Crew

Yellow! One of the most fun colors to wear, yet also the most difficult. This season, yellows can range from muted, soft yellow to a brighter more lemon-lime hue. If you don’t think you can pull it off, start with the softer colors. Just be confident in whatever you choose and it will look amazing.

From top: Christoper Cane, Proenza Schouler, Nina Ricci

But don’t worry if you aren’t feeling that adventurous yet, you can always wear white and earth tones and feel like spring has sprung!
Don’t forget to protect your hair from sun damage and use Gloss Moderne High Gloss Masque at least once a week to hydrate and feel beautiful from head to toe!
